Occasionspaper Garage Doors is a referral service, so there is no staff roster to show you. The person on the other end is an independent provider in the network, usually a garage door company that works near Chanhassen.

What They Will Ask You

Say you describe a door that shakes and stops halfway. The provider will want a few details:

• What the door did, and when it started.
• Whether you heard a bang, a grinding sound or nothing at all.
• The age of the door and the opener, if you know it.
• Whether the door is stuck open or closed.
• Photos, if you can take them safely.

If the door is stuck, keep clear of the springs and cables. They hold a lot of tension.

Questions Worth Asking a Provider

A good conversation goes both ways. Try these:

• Will you give me a written estimate before starting?
• What exactly does the price include, such as parts, labor and haul-away?
• Do you work on track alignment, springs and a new garage door opener?
• Are the parts new, and is there a written warranty on them?
• Do you carry the licenses and insurance that local rules require?

Typical U.S. costs vary a lot by door, parts and job, so a written quote is the only number that matters.

The Decision Is Yours

No provider in the network can force a choice. Get two or three estimates if you can. Look at the scope of work, not just the total. A cheap quote that skips a worn part may cost more later.
